Cassie VFD sent one firefighter to the Taylor VFD Fire Academy, and had two complete their course work and skills in our in house academy.All three firefighters are currently waiting state skill testing and state written test dates.

Cassie VFD was notified they were awarded a training aids grant from the Texas Forest Service in the amount of $8,000.00. this grant is 100% cost share. which means we do have to pay any money out of $8,000.00.

Over the past week Cassie VFD, along with the North Burnet County Task Force was out at the Painted Rock Fire in very rough country fighting a fire. also this past week CVFD responded to 4 MVC and 3 EMS call we had responded to 12 calls in a week.

Today CVFD was notified via email from TFS that we were approved for a rescue grant in the amount of $15,000.00. the grant will be used to purchase a cascade system. this grant is a 75/25 grant. the department will cover 25% of the grant and TFS will cover 75% up to $15,000.00.
