Exceptional Drought Condition

Much of the State of Texas is facing drought condition, many of our neighboring departments along with us are responding to grass and wildland fires starting from small sparks from chains, welding, and grinding. Please keep in mind that while working outside or pulling a trailer to check everything around you, if you are working outside please have a water source, and a cell phone handy. Early activation of a fire will save lives and property.

The first couple of FEMA trucks have arrived and bought Cassie VFD 2 pallets of MREs (Meals Ready to Eat). We are still awaiting bottle water deliveries.CVFD does have Canned drinking water to pass out, but in limited stock.

Firefighters will be able to conduct swift-water rescues, fight lakeside fires from the water. From the Picture; LCRA and Pedernales Electric Cooperative representatives present a $19,643 grant to the Cassie Volunteer Fire Department for a new rescue boat.
